Bupa care homes in Dunmow and Hatfield Peverel are asking people in the community to send messages of Christmas cheer to residents and staff.

Receiving a Christmas card helps boost morale, wellbeing and a sense of belonging among residents, and the cards will be opened and placed around each home for everyone to read and enjoy.

Cards can be sent to Croft House Bupa Care Home, Braintree Road, Great Dunmow, CM6 1HR or Hatfield Peverel Bupa Care Home, Crabb's Hill, Hatfield Peverel, CM3 2NZ.

Bupa reginal director Linda Burrows said: "Sending and receiving cards is a tradition that many of our residents love, so this Christmas we wanted to make them feel extra special by showering them in cards from people from all walks of life."

Hatfield Peverel Bupa Care Home is also opening its doors on December 25 to elderly people in the community who face Christmas Day alone.

Linda added: "We know that receiving a card full of festive well wishes would really mean the world to our residents this year.

"It’s a small gesture of kindness which would have such a positive impact, providing residents with a great sense of warmth, support, and togetherness."
