Staff and residents at Croft House Care Home in Great Dunmow celebrated the home's 25th anniversary with a Mad Hatter's Tea Party.

The event was held on Sunday, November 19 and combined with Silver Sunday - a celebration day for the elderly.

Both staff and residents dressed up in Alice in Wonderland-inspired costumes and enjoyed cakes made by head chef Joanna Wrzesien. 

Activity coordinators Angeline Wilson and Nicky Hasnat, manager Mel Kemsley, deputy manager Sharon Nuttal, finance manager Kelly Smee and other staff members helped with the planning and running of the day.

Brian Farley, Croft House's weekly pianist, entertained residents with music in the morning, while former Britain's Got Talent contestant Ana Almanda performed popular numbers from different eras.

The Mayor and Mayoress of Great Dunmow visited the home and drew the raffle. Residents also took part in a tombola, and one resident won a voucher for the Pride of Sylhet Indian restaurant.

Manager Mel praised staff for their "great team effort", and events coordinator Angeline said: "The staff and residents would like to thank Daniel Robertsons,  the Pride of Sylhet, The Meadow on the Hill, Tanoshi, Angel Wings, and Chloe’s clothes shop for all their lovely, generous donations and support."
