Armistice Day and Remembrance Day services were held in Dunmow at the weekend for residents and dignitaries to pay tribute to those killed in war.
To mark Armistice Day on Saturday, a service was held at the War Memorial with a two-minute silence and the firing of the maroon.

On Remembrance Sunday, a standard bearer from the Air Cadets led a parade to the War Memorial, made up of members of Great Dunmow Town Council, the Royal British Legion and other uniformed services.
When they reached the memorial Reverend Tom Warmington led a service, with prayers and acts of remembrance.

Others present included Deputy Lieutenant Vincent Thompson and Diana Thompson, as well as Mayor of Dunmow Cllr Alex Armstrong.

Following the service, town crier Jody Huizar announced the laying of the wreaths.

Among those laying wreaths were Deputy Lieutenant of Essex Vincent Thompson, Great Dunmow Town Council, Uttlesford District Council, the ambulance service, the fire service, the 1st Dunmow Scout Group and Girl Guiding Association, the Rotary Club of Dunmow, the Great Dunmow Town Band, Helena Romanes School and more.
Alan Stratton and Patricia Madden of the Great Dunmow Town Team also laid a wreath, while the final wreaths were placed by members of the public.
