Moat House Care Home near Great Dunmow was officially opened by the deputy mayor last week following a "show-stopping" refurbishment.

Deputy Mayor of Great Dunmow Cllr Peter Childs attended a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the Great Easton care home on Friday, October 6, along with Country Court chairman Abdul Kachra.

Cllr Childs said: "I am delighted to be invited today on behalf of the Mayor of Great Dunmow who sadly couldn’t make it today, to witness what a wonderful addition this Care Home will be to Great Easton.

"I wish Moat House Care Home every success!"

Moat House is the latest care home to be opened by the Peterborough-based care home operator, and will provide residential and dementia care for up to 66 people.

Throughout the open weekend visitors were welcomed to the care home, which sits within the gardens of Moat House Retirement Village.

On Friday, staff offered tours, food and live music to visitors from the community.

One visitor commented: "It’s a stunning home. I’ve never known a home offer its residents, their families and local community so much under one roof.

"It’s simply wonderful that you have all this available for them."

Co-CEO of Country Court Alykhan Kachra said: "The warm and friendly response from our local community was wonderful this weekend.

"We were delighted that we could finally showcase our beautiful facilities to our local community who have supported us in the build-up with our refurbishment.

Moat House Care Home aims to offer a 'luxurious environment' for residents, along with 'exceptional' personalised care, and features a coffee club, varied day spaces, a hair salon and lounge and dining areas for its residents.

George Byford, customer relations managet at Moat House, said: "I want to thank everyone for attending and supporting our Open Day.

"It’s been wonderful to see so many familiar and new faces from the local community.

"We can’t wait to set in motion our plans for events and fundraisers to support our community in Great Easton in any way that we can."
