St Michael and All Angels Church in Leaden Roding is inviting villagers to enjoy beautiful displays at their Festival of Flowers and Art.

The festival - which celebrates the harvest - takes place at the church from 11am to 4pm on Saturday, September 23 and Sunday, September 24.

This year's theme is 'colours of the wind', and featured displays are entitled 'The Wind in the Willows', 'Pooh Bear and his Balloon', 'Calming the Gale', and 'Paint the Colours of the Wind'.

The Rodings Art Club will display a variety of paintings, and there will be history talks throughout the day.

Refreshments will be on offer including hot dogs and cakes, and there will be a plant stall, a raffle and a tombola.

Leanne White, from the church, said: "Last year Karen, the violinist from our easy listening concert, popped in and played some lively folk music to entertain the people in the tea tents, she may pop in this year as well."

The Stortford Road church is raising money for a new, modern toilet. If anyone wishes to donate, they can do so by bank transfer to Leaden Roding L.C.C. Sort code 30 – 92 – 76, account number 0019865.
