A road closure will be in place at Dunmow Road as part of ongoing M11 Junction 8 capacity works.

The work to increase capacity and ease congestion at Junction 8 will see the existing A120/A1250 Dunmow Road roundabout replaced with a signalised junction.

Aiming to make it easier for traffic to get to and from the A120, the realigned Dunmow Road will also see improved walking and cycling infrastructure.

The work is split into two phases - with the first stage taking place between Sunday, September 3 and Sunday, October 29.

This first stage will see the southbound lane closed from the Dunmow Road Roundabout to near the entrance to Bishop's Stortford Golf Club, in order to divert the water main.

Diversions will be in place for those travelling from the A120 into Bishop's Stortford.

For the second stage - from Sunday, October 29 to Sunday, November 26, a full closure will be in place on the same stretch to enable sheet piling and drainage installation.

During this time a soft closure will be in place up to the Parsonage Lane roundabout, with access retained for residents, businesses, the golf club and Bishop's Stortford Football Club, as well as pedestrian access throughout.
