A charity which supports people with disabilities in Uttlesford, Harlow and Epping Forest has received a £10,000 grant to continue its work.

Accuro (Care Services) was awarded the grant from the Edward Gostling Foundation, which will go towards the running costs and delivery of all projects this year.

These include youth clubs, adult services and a holiday scheme which runs outside of school term time, supporting people with disabilities of all ages.

The grant will be used across all three areas where the charity provides its services, helping Accuro to support families and extend its reach to new members.

Senior operations manager at Accuro Alison McKeown said: "We are thrilled to have received this funding from the Edward Gostling Foundation as we rely on grants and the support of the local community to keep our services open across West Essex."

Accuro's services aim to reduce social isolation and empower members by providing accessible social and leisure opportunities - allowing members to develop life skills, gain confidence and self-esteem and make friends.

Caroline Kendall, operations director at the Edward Gostling Foundation, said: "Edward Gostling Foundation are delighted to be able to support Accuro with a grant towards their core costs which will go towards helping them in their valuable work, supporting people of all ages with disabilities in West Essex."
