A family firm from Dunmow won a top prize at the East of England Energy Awards - which celebrate energy efficiency.

Rosendales Heating and Plumbing Ltd, run by Alec and Cara Rosendale, took home the Regional Boiler or Heating Installer of the Year Award.

The company, established in 2013, completed 72 domestic boiler installations last year - to the value of £250,000 - and also waived call out charge during lockdown.

There were 11 categories up for grabs in the awards ceremony at the Parklands Quendon Hall in Quendon.

Energy Efficiency Awards chairman Gary Braybrooke said: "Companies and individuals working in the energy efficiency industry are carrying out some of the most vital work in the UK today.

"We all know we have to be more energy efficient as a nation, but it is our nominees and winners who are at the sharp end, creating often ingenious opportunities to help people save energy, drive down bills and help the environment."

According to event organiser Kenneth Campbell, the awards celebrate the "unsung heroes driving energy efficiency forward in homes and businesses".

A national awards ceremony will take place in Birmingham on September 29.
