A youth centre in Great Dunmow was evacuated earlier this week because of subsidence.

The North Street building, which was formerly a school, is now home to a youth centre and family hub.

A spokesperson for Essex County Council said: "Due to subsidence issues at the former school building, in North Street, Great Dunmow, ECC has been forced to stop operations from the property.

"The building is sub-divided and forms a family hub and youth centre.

"Work is ongoing to secure alternative locations for both services and we are hopeful these will be confirmed soon.

"The future of the North Street premises is also being explored."

The building is owned by Essex County Council, and it is on the Heritage Asset Register.
