Dunmow United U17s team, along with local businesses and other teams at Dunmow United FC, have donated football kit to help deprived players in South Africa.

The kits went to Meadowlands Football Academy in Soweto, South Africa - which has 180 players from under nines to adults, 40 of whom are female.

A message from one of the teams receiving the kits in Soweto said: "The players experience the rewards of working together as a team.

"The experience helps them build a sense of belonging and self-worth.

"Now with the help of Dunmow United in donating football kit this opportunity can extend to others.

"Thank you and in the words of head coaches Teffo and Chippa on receiving the kits yesterday, 'we are blessed'."
