A charity based in Stansted Mountfitchet has received a £2,000 donation following nominations from Amazon employees.

The donation was made to community wellbeing charity TouchPoint, which runs a community hub offering a safe, social space with access to services including Citizens Advice and Mind in West Essex.

They also offer a free breakfast club and 'TouchPoint Teatime', providing a free hot meal for children and their parents or carers.

In addition, TouchPoint runs a scheme collecting fresh food from supermarkets at the end of the day which would otherwise have been sent to landfill. The food is then offered for free to the community.

The donation will go towards both the food share project and the cost of living support activites run by the charity.

Paul Chambers from TouchPoint said: "We can’t thank Andrea and the team at Amazon enough for this donation.

"Donations like this allow us to continue to support the Essex community while building lasting connections."

Andrea Ravnik, Amazon in the Community UK lead, said: "We are pleased to make this donation to TouchPoint. The charity is a real support to the Essex community and its services are fantastic. I hope this donation helps the charity to expand its essential work."
