Remembrance Day services were held in Great Dunmow and Thaxted to pay tribute to those killed in wartime.
In Great Dunmow, Rev Tom Warmington led an Armistice Day service on Friday, November 11, and a wreath was laid on behalf of the town by Mayor of Great Dunmow Cllr Patrick Lavelle.
A Remembrance service was held on Sunday, November 13 at the War Memorial - which was again led by Rev Tom Warmington and supported by Rev Elsie Bouffler and Rev Hans Stein.
The ceremony started with a parade through the High Street, along with representation from Dunmow Air Cadets, Army Cadets and the Scout and Girl Guides sssociations, along with Colonel Hayakawa representing Carver Barracks.
Afterwards a service was held at United Reformed Church, where the dead from war were individually named and remembered with a poppy.
Meanwhile in Thaxted, the Remembrance Sunday parade started in the Guildhall and was followed by a service.
This year the Deputy Lieutenant of Essex, Vincent Thompson, attended along with around 250 people.
The names of all those in Thaxted killed in both world wars were read out, and a poppy was dropped from the pulpit for each name.
