YOUNGSTERS can now benefit from a newly-formed bursary set up by supporters of the Dunmow Arts Centre.

Cash grants are now available for applicants wishing to take part in the many activities and courses running at the Haslers Lane venue.

Bursary committee spokesman, Derek Cornelius, said: "The bursary is a fund based on donations that will be used to pay for young people in the community to attend courses at the arts centre.

"People will have to apply by submitting a form at the centre and a committee will meet once every six weeks to decide on which applicant should be granted their request.

"The organisation is totally non-profit making and all parties involved in administering the bursary are doing so without any payment."

Although no bursaries have been given out yet, the committee is expecting to be deluged with requests.

Anyone wishing to donate can pop into the arts centre.
