FANCY a fun night full of comedy during the cold winter months? Well, High Barn in Great Bardfield could well hold the answer.

The huge luxury converted barn is now hosting special comedy nights once a month, and for just 12 guests can see four of the best talents currently on the comedy circuit.

On Thursday December 3 the latest of these comedy nights will be compared by Bishop's Stortford funny man John Mann, whose sharp observation and wry wit mingled effortlessly with a gentle and confident rapport ensure that he is unfailingly funny.

Three comedians will take to the stage for 30-minute sets during the evening. They are:

Rick Right - As long as the pop music business continues to manufacture its stars based on how good they look in a video, Rick Right will continue to be there to point it out. Along with his sardonic wit and ever-so-subtle sarcasm, Rick knows the music so well that on one mere suggestion he can sing and play any song that was a major hit over the last 40-plus years, even if he has never played it before.

Nick Revell - A satirical comedian but so much more besides. He said: "My reviews often seem to pick up favourably on the satirical element in my material. While I'm pleased they do, I wouldn't like people to think it's a one dimensional act.

"I've always liked to put in as many topical jokes as possible, but there is broader stuff, stories and surreal bits in there too. And I certainly don't come from a consistent political angle - I'm too cynical."

Colin Owens - The 'Jimmy Carr Comedy Idol' winner is described as 'laconic and charming', he talks about his failings, inadequacies, mistakes and general stupidity, all tinged with an air of paranoia and insecurity but delivered with supreme confidence and sexual edginess! He sounds like a proper 'mish-mash', but is charming and funny.

Tickets for the comedy night on Thursday December 3 are available from the High Barn box office. Call 01371 811291. Doors and the bar open at 7.30pm.
