FELSTED’S women’s institution did something a little bit different this Remembrance Day.
Instead of having the normal poppy, the ladies attempted to craft the symbol of November 11 from balloons with fantastic success.
With visitors from Great Easton, Tilty and Little Leigh’s WI in attendance the group entertained their guests by learning the skill of balloon artistry together.
Janet Vaile taught the women how to create a topiary tree with twelve environmentally friendly balloons, cover bases with balloons, put coloured and patterned balloons inside each other by using a “faster blaster” and twist couples of thin balloons to create flower heads and leaves.
The ladies now intend to decorate their Christmas craft display, which takes place on December 8, with their new-found skill.
