A MAN has been arrested in connection with a knifepoint robbery at a branch of Lidl in Braintree.
Police were called at about 3.30pm after a man threatened staff and left with a quantity of cash from the Rayne Road store on Wednesday, August 10.
Members of the public took a note of the man’s car registration number and quickly alerted police.
A black Fiesta was followed along the A120 and southbound on to the M11 where it was stopped by Essex Police officers and a man was arrested on suspicion of robbery. The man, who is 36 and from Leamington Spa, Warwickshire is now in custody being interviewed by detectives.
