Skaters slipped and slid around in Dunmow High Street this weekend (December 3), on a special ice rink that was opened especially for the Christmas lights switch-on.

A 12-year-old Dunmow figure skater, Jasmine Cressey, who is the newly crowned British Champion in her age group, opened the rink and had a whirl around.

Lots of people had a go, including town councillors and also Father Christmas from his grotto behind the Rose Garden.

This was part of the biggest switch-on event Dunmow has ever seen – more than 1000 people turned up to join in the festivities.
