Two car crashes happened along Dunmow Road, Takeley, each incident involved two cars and both involved some people being trapped in the vehicles and having to be cut out by the fire service.

The first incident was on January 27 at 11.05, two fire crews were called to the scene and firefighters worked through the night to release a man trapped in his car. He was left in the care of the ambulance service at 9am.

The second accident was two days later, on January 29 at 6pm. Again two fire crews attended the scene one from Dunmow and one from Stansted. Two cars had collided.

On arrival firefighters reported that both cars had people trapped inside them. They used cutting equipment and worked with paramedics to release both casualties by 7.30pm.

Both the trapped people, one man and one woman, were left in the care of the ambulance service.
