The first Good Easter Scarecrow Festival was hailed a success, with £400 raised for good causes in the village.
More than 100 people took part, following a trail which took them past dozens of scarecrows of all shapes and sizes dotted around the village.
Organiser Marie Stephenson said: “Even with the bad weather, people still came out. Plans are already in process for the next one, with many more wanting to build one. It was so nice to see everyone of all ages take part and a real community event, with people coming from other areas to view the scarecrows.
“A special thanks to everyone on the sports committee and the church, as such events wouldn’t be possible without the time they give up to help us.”
The funds raised will go towards St Andrew’s Church and the village pavilion.
Competition winners will be announced at the Halloween pop-up pub on October 26, from 6.30pm at the Good Easter pavilion, with food served by Anne’s Pantry.
