STANSTED airline Ryanair will be scrapping its service to Newquay during the winter months to save costs.
Blaming high airport costs and tourist taxes, Ryanair has said it will be forced to cancel the daily route from October 1.
The budget airline had announced in July that there would be a cut in the number of aircraft it ran at Stansted Airport by 40 per cent in its winter schedule, and one of the first to go is the Cornwall link
In a statement, the Ireland-based company said: "Ryanair were forced to cut back service at Newquay due to the high costs at the BAA London Stansted Airport, plus the unjustified �10 UK Government Tourist Tax.
