IT is the summer holidays and Eddie has been packed off to stay with his strange aunt Kath after his mother was struck down with an illness.

The family lives near Wookey Hole caves and before long Eddie finds himself strangely drawn to the caves. He makes friends with the ticket seller there and is soon allowed to roam wherever he wants. He loves it. Until the day he gets lost. Just as panic sets in, his hand is taken by a strange girl who guides him to the surface. The young girl is called Gwerren and she is weird. She is also extraordinarily pale with huge violet eyes and white hair. What’s more she will not come out of the caves. As she and Eddie become friends he starts to wonder if she is a ghost. Then Eddie nearly dies during a potholing accident and discovers not only the truth, but life where nobody thought it could exist.

This book has everything that you would expect from an Ali Sparkes book. It is full of adventure, mystery and explores family bonds and a strange girl in a strange setting.

It is well worth the read.
