A Blooming Great Tea Party took place in Tiptree Tearooms across Essex to raise money for charity on Friday (June 26).

All seven of the tearooms, including Saffron Walden and Finchingfield, served up special Cream Teas, with £1 from each one sold going to Marie Curie.

Giant scones were baked and raffle tickets sold to raise money to provide more free care for people living with a terminal illness in their own homes in Essex.

Aimee Smith, from Tiptree, said: “We had a fantastic time hosting events across all our tearooms, and it was lovely to see people enjoying their favourite treats while knowing that every cup of tea and bite of scone will help Marie Curie Nurses provide more free care.”

Other tearooms across the country have taken part in the Blooming Great Tea Party campaign held between Saturday, June 20, and Monday, June 29.
