Stansted Airport has been recognised for its commitment to community projects in the area with a prestigious national award.
The CommunityMark, presented by Business in the Community, is the UK’s highest national standard for companies who are leading the way in supporting their communities.
Stansted joins an exclusive club of only 34 other businesses in the UK to hold the status, and only a handful are awarded each year.
The airport’s education and community outreach projects were highly recognised, and staff have spent time working at Daisy May Farm in Elsenham, the Gardens of Easton Lodge in Dunmow, and Saffron Walden County High School.
Andrew Cowan, Stansted Airport’s chief executive, said: “We are absolutely delighted and hugely honoured to receive the CommunityMark accreditation.
“Earning trust is crucial to the long term success of the airport which is why corporate responsibility is firmly embedded in our DNA.”
The airport was presented with the CommunityMark at Business in the Community’s National Gala Dinner on July 11.
