GREAT Garnetts Farm celebrated the first anniversary of its farmers' market on Saturday.
Hundreds of people flocked to the Barnston-based family-run organic farm to buy products from traders, many of whom are from the villages and farms surrounding Dunmow.
Market organiser and farm owner, Julie Smith, said: "Everyone has worked really hard to make this market a success.
"We are delighted to celebrate its first year.
"We get 500 people to each market and many are the same faces, which mean people are coming back again and again."
While other farmers' markets have seen visitor numbers dwindle, it is a show of the
quality of traders and produce that has seen visitor numbers remain constant.
Customer Patrick Robertson, clutching a bag of vegetables, bacon and oils, said: "I try and come every month. I love the atmosphere here, everyone's so friendly and the food's fantastic."
Mrs Smith said she is looking forward to the October and November markets, which are popular for Christmas turkey orders. Great Garnetts farmers' market takes place on the second Saturday of the month.
