MESSAGES of congratulations have poured into the Dunmow Broadcast office for a well-loved resident who has reached the magnificent milestone of 100 years young.
Mary Powell celebrated her century on Tuesday afternoon with friends and family, and the bouncy little lady still had that spark in her eye as she said how happy she was.
"I am delighted to reach 100," she said. "I cannot wait to receive my telegraph from
the Queen."
Mrs Powell is a popular member of the Boyes Croft sheltered housing estate where, after living all around the county, she finally settled.
Grandson John Pinnell said: "She is a wonderful woman, and to be still lively and active at her age is really amazing. We all love her to bits."
Other messages came from Lorraine, George and family, Pam and Harry, Josie, Peggy, Amy and Jim, Phil, Vera, Joyce and Allison, Vic, Jill and Dave, Olive and Meg.
