AN OFF-DUTY paramedic was left shaken on Wednesday afternoon after the car he was driving was struck by another just off the forecourt of a busy petrol station.
In a further twist, the driver then failed to stop, prompting police into appealing for any witnesses who may have seen the collision to come forward.
At around 4.20pm on the B1256 Dunmow Road, the paramedic, who was driving a blue Vauxhall Astra, was cueing to get onto the forecourt of the Oak Garage, near to Stebbing Green.
Due to a busy forecourt, the rear end of the car was left sticking out on to the main road and was then struck by what police are describing as a "Red, old style Peugeot" before it sped off towards Great Saling.
Anybody who may have seen the incident has been asked to ring the Dunmow road traffic policing unit on 01371 871116
