ESSEX police and Essex fire service continue to investigate the death of a woman who died in a house fire in Great Dunmow on Friday afternoon.
Fire crews from Dunmow and Leaden Roading were called to the scene in The Close shortly after 12pm.
The house was 100 per cent smoke logged and firefighters took about an hour, using two sets of breathing apparatus and one hose reel, to extinguish the blaze.
An ambulance crew was also called to the incident although on-one was taken to hospital. A 52-year-old woman, who is thought to have been disabled, died at the scene.
Forensic specialists are yet to confirm the cause of the fire, although a police spokesman confirmed that the incident is not being treated as suspicious.
