A group of 11 Brownies in Rayne have tried out a new heritage trail.
The group took one hour and 15 minutes to complete the trail, which is part of a project to showcase the village's long history.
Rayne is one of just 481 Essex places recorded in the Domesday Book of 1086.
Heritage project co-organiser Kay Fraser said: "We want to involve everyone in the heritage project, and in particular show the children all the buildings which have been important to Rayne for many years."
The trail was set up as part of a £78,000 project to repair All Saints Church using National Lottery Heritage Fund cash.
The Brownies' feedback on the walk will be used to make "finishing touches" to the project.
Project organisers expect to unveil a Rayne Heritage app, website and two trails for adults and children in August.
