19-year-old faces sentencing for dangerous driving

A MAN has today (Tuesday August 30) pleaded guilty to killing a cyclist in a road crash in north Essex.
The collision happened in Ford End when a Vauxhall Corsa struck a pedal cyclist head-on, along Main Road near to its junction with B1417 at 9am on Sunday, October 10, 2010.
The cyclist, 57-year-old Nicholas Cherrill from Boreham Road in Great Leighs was certified dead at the scene.
The car driver was arrested and subsequently charged with one count of causing death by dangerous driving.
Joshua Whiston, who was 18 at the time of the crash, appeared at Chelmsford Crown Court and pleaded guilty to the charge.
The 19-year-old engineer from New Street in Dunmow has been released on court bail prior to sentencing which will take place at the same court week commencing Monday, September 20.
