I WAS appalled to read that Uttlesford District councillors changed their minds at the eleventh hour on the level of council tax they were going to set. They have tried to bribe us with two per cent when all the preparation was on 4.5 per cent. In fact,

They have tried to bribe us with two per cent when all the preparation was on 4.5 per cent.
In fact, to balance the books the figure should have been more than 10 per cent because they have overspent by a million pounds in two years.
I am terrified that, under this administration, we will go into the red next year.
We used to have capital reserves but soon they will disappear and we will become a 'borrowing' council with all the costs and lack of investment that would follow.
As a community we need to do something before it is too late.
