Super time

CAN I take this opportunity of most sincerely thanking the organisers who include John Murphy and Mike Perry for the outstanding efforts that were carried out to ensure that Dunmow's continental market at the weekend was a great success.

I spent some time in the market talking to people who had come along, with many from areas which were well outside Dunmow and, without exception, the reaction and comments that I received were that people felt this was a very good way to spend a day in Dunmow.

They also said they were able to buy items that they would often not normally be able to obtain locally.

I do hope that our own local traders benefited by the very large number of people who used this opportunity to also buy items in our Dunmow shops as well as the market stalls.

It would now be most interesting to hear what other people felt of this event which may well be repeated later in the year.
