IT'S disgraceful the Lord of the Manor of Thaxted feels he can jeopardise the future of a long-running tradition, the market, just so he can make a fast buck.
What kind of a precedent does this set - maybe all local councils should cover their backs and buy their own titles to save this from happening elsewhere. Its a sad sign of the times when we have to consider this.
