ASHLEY Riley's letter (Airport jobs, Broadcast, 28 August) is self-seeking and a shabby attempt to save his own job by deceiving the people of Dunmow and all other areas impacted by the disaster that a second runway at Stansted would create.

The environmental catastrophe he supports contravenes the Government's commitment to reduce carbon emissions and is therefore totally unjustified except out of his employer's greed.

This makes him no more than a mouthpiece. I look forward to BAA's anti-competitive monopoly being dismantled by the sale of Stansted Airport and to Mr Riley collecting his P45 for having the cheek to make such an outrageous and blatantly untrue statement that a second runway would bring any kind of benefits at all.
