Regarding the report on the late Rev Noel Mellish, I have a copy of the report 'In the War' illustrated dated May 13 1916 and with it a photo of the head and shoulders of the Rev Noel Mellish.
The report states that during heavy fighting he repeatedly went backwards and forwards under continuous shell and machine gun fire, between our trenches and those captured from the enemy in order to tend and rescue 10 wounded men, three were killed while he was tending them.
My grandfather had these copies bound into volumes. He was a police officer in London at the time.
