FOLLOWING Uttlesford District Council's comments in this edition of Focus, whilst I applaud efforts to reduce the amount of refuse that it sends to landfill sites it cannot be overlooked that the council only recycles three types of plastic.
Types four, five, six and seven are still being buried instead of being recycled.
These plastics may not be as profitable as one, two and three but nevertheless they are recyclable.
It is a complete nonsense to preach about the good work being done if no effort is made to recycle all recyclable plastic.
