WHAT a sad story on your front page regarding the boy who broke his leg in a playground accident.
Whilst everyone will feel sorry for him the real sadness is the parish councils knee jerk reaction of removing the play equipment depriving all children of fun and activities.
All activities involve an element of danger from crossing the road to eating a meal.
Children have been using such items for many years and whilst some injuries will occur this does not mean they should not be available or that anyone is to blame, it is just part of life and children need to learn this.
