I was disappointed with the negative focus of your report on the housing of refugees from Lebanon at Leaden Roding. It totally neglected the good work the council had done over the past weeks to manage this emergency and to come to the aid of people who had been bombed out of their homes and in constant fear of their lives. I hoped that the press would have focused on that rather than playing on the fears created in the article. I acknowledge elderly people will have concerns about any change, but a meeting was held to inform them why the Council needed to act. The allegation that it was just filling up vacant properties is ludicrous. Local residents can be proud of the humane way our relatively small council was able to assist in a major world problem.
