Poor old Dunmow High Street, after 600 years as a prosperous market town, now a row of travel agents, estate agents and bookmakers.
It would be silly now to go there to buy an obscure item like a 13 amp electrical plug.
But if we go to the dear old Kinema garden machinery chap we find that he sells everything from sticky tape, shotgun cartridges and Essex honey to lawn mowers.
He even has his own little parking space in front. Long may he prosper, as I think of him as the real Dunmow.
