IN ANSWER to your front cover two weeks ago about helicopter patrols to monitor car speeds, my first reaction is that Uttlesford District Council must be whooping with joy at another way to rip off council tax payers.
The helicopter crews will be less joyful. At present they are angels of mercy to those in accidents. Now they have joined the Uttlesford mob and will be engaged in the vital job of reporting cars doing two mph above the speed limit, and be less available for saving lives. A bargain at £10,000 an hour.
