ON BEHALF of the Dunmow Flitch Trials Committee, I would like to offer our most sincere thanks to the Broadcast for the outstanding support and coverage given to this year's Flitch Trials.

In the weeks building up to the trials, readers were treated to a behind-the-scenes insight into what these trials mean to Great Dunmow and the roles that so many people play in helping make the event the success that it is.

As the committee takes stock of the 2008 trials, we must - as always - start looking ahead to 2012. This year we have launched a patron scheme to attract new support for the trials and help preserve the tradition for generations to come. The cost of becoming a patron is just £10 for the next four years and will give - among other things - priority purchase for 2012 Trial tickets. Anyone interested in becoming a patron and supporting the trials should call Mark on 01371 870209 or e-mail patrons@dunmow flitchtrials.co.uk
