I WRITE in response to your report on floods in the Dunmow Broadcast edition of March 8.
I was driving from Great Bardfield on the Dunmow Road towards Great Dunmow last Tuesday, and just round a double bend I came right through, and nearly stalled in, a very deep flood.
This is a notorious place when it rains heavily, and is the only way out of our village.
On the way back I came via Thaxted so as not to encounter the previous flood and came across another three, the worse being just outside Little Bardfield, again on a bend just before Great Bardfield.
It is apparent that every time there is heavy rain these places always flood.
Please can something be done about it, otherwise we feel completely imprisoned in our village.
