I WAS delighted to read in the Broadcast that most of the yellow development signs are to be removed.
Most of these signs violate the guidelines issued by the Department for Communities and Local Government, which state that temporary directional signs must not be displayed for more that two years and no sign may be more than two miles from the building site. These two guidelines alone would cover the majority of the signs despoiling our historic town.
Hopefully Essex County Council will now respond rapidly to ensure that these signs are removed and despatched to the recycling bins within weeks.
