A COUPLE of letters on three bin recycling require a response.

I can understand David Marsh of High Roding's concern about recycling bins encouraging burglaries, but can reassure him that there is no evidence that changing to a three bin recycling system has any impact on the level of street crime or burglary.

An anonymous correspondent helpfully pointed out the types of plastic that can be recycled and those that can't, but suggested that only the council supplied biodegradable recycling bags could be used to wrap kitchen leftovers. This is not the case - cardboard such as cereal packets or newspaper are just as good. They cost nothing and aid the composting process.

Readers with enquiries about three bin recycling, should call the Recycling Hotline on 01799 510344.
