IN respect of the councillors at Saffron Walden allowing performing circus animals on their land it is quite amazing that this kind of circus is still allowed to operate.
Here in New Zealand a country known for its sheep and cattle farming, animals are seen as a product. But even with this attitude towards animals we have not had any performing animals in circuses for over 20 years.
I left Linton over 20 years ago so I am not party to any changes that have taken place in the area but I must say that this decision by these councillors is very much at odds with the views of the majority of the ratepayers who elected them to office.
May I say that come the next local election this decision will come back to haunt them.
