While there were plenty of sad moments not least nationally – with terrorist attacks in London and Manchester and the Grenfell Tower tragedy – and locally with lives lost on our roads, we have selected some of the happier times enjoyed by people in Dunmow and its beautiful surroundings.

Whether it was the time a 1,400 ducks floated down a river, or the Christmas light switch on, there have been light-hearted moments in the news.

This was a difficult task; with so many great stories in each edition it was hard to pick just one picture from each month, but that is what we have done.
