I HAVE just read your article on the Stebbing shop closure.

I would just like to say that as a resident of Stebbing for four years until I moved last year, I found the shop scruffy. The contents on the shelves dusty, and veg that had sometimes seen better days.

If the shop wants to stay open, dont blame the residents of Stebbing, take a leaf out of the Felsted shop. Good selection, fresh produce including fresh bread, and best of all no more expensive than any other shop.
