WELL done Uttlesford! BAA is out of date; my feeling is that the government will have to bow to the growing number of concerns about climate change.

The march in London last month proved a turning of the tide of public opinion.

As for economic advantage to the local area from expansion: I used to work at the airport (in HR for World Duty Free).

The majority of airport related jobs are low-paid, the shifts are long, unsocial and crippling to family life.

Recruitment was a nightmare: is it known that staff are recruited from north London and given free transport to the airport for their first year?

Don't be bullied into caving in to threats that are at heart based on self-interest and commercial acumen.
