THE Auction of Promises which took place at the Maltings in Great

Dunmow on June 23 was extremely successful, with 68 items being auctioned and attended by almost 80 people.

The amount raised was in excess of £9,000 and will be part of the Mayor's Charity Community Fund.

The highest possible praise should be given to those persons who worked hard in achieving this magnificent sum.

I would particularly like to thank David and Sue Wolfe, Caroline Botwright, Andrea Darlington, Gwyn and Vera Davies, Mike Miller and Tim Trembath.

There will be a number of other events taking place in the future, including a charity football match at the recreation ground on Saturday, July 15.

Cllr Frank Silver

Great Dunmow Mayor
