Laura Wright, selected to record the new Diamond Jubilee song Stronger as One, has her own show on Saturday July 14.

After her first album reached the top of the classical charts last year, she is back with Glorious. She was on the BBC Breakfast Show recently and appeared at the Chelsea Flower Show

Red Priest has been knocking the stuffiness out of classical music for the last ten years. ‘Wholly irreverent and highly enlightened’ was how one critic recently described them. They will be lightening up Bach and Vivaldi on Sunday June 24

If classical music is not your style then why not enjoy the jazz sound of the JJ Vinten Band. On Sunday July 1, they will be recreating the style, sparkle and soul of the Great American Jazz Age.

Fancy a night at the Opera? There are still a few tickets left for both performances of Puccini’s ever-popular La bohème at the Barn Theatre, Little Easton on July 7-8.

There is also a family concert on the morning of July 14.

On June 29, the Choir of St John’s College will be performing Bach’s St John Passion, in the Church of St John the Baptist. The organisers have described it as “the sort of concert which only occurs once”.

The Festival starts on Friday 22 June and finishes on Sunday 15 July. For full listsings, visit thaxtedfestival.org.uk or call the box office on 01371 831421
