Saffron Walden Museum will be hosting a very special bike bonanza art activity day for families, on Saturday (June 14).
Professional artist Alison Stockmarr will be on hand to help visitors prepare their own bike masks and flags ready for when the Tour de France comes through town on July 7.
Gemma Tully, the museum’s visitor services and learning officer, said: “I am really excited that we’ve got an artist coming to help us prepare some fantastic masks and flags to help support the Tour de France cyclists as they come through town.
“I’ve seen the prototypes and the masks are particularly inspired. I know I’ll be getting stuck in with the activity too!’
This event is funded by Essex County Council and is FREE for those 18 and under. Adults will need to pay normal museum entry fees (Adults £1.50, concessions 75p). The activity will run all day, from 11am-1pm and 2pm-4pm. Visitors are encouraged to wear yellow jerseys and really get into the spirit of the race.
